Taba squishy is one of the most popular types of these toys. It has a slightly sticky surface, which feels very pleasant to the touch and gives squeezing an additional interesting effect.

If you are interested in making squishy paws or generally how to make a squishy, you can do it quite easily at home. All you need is the right material, a silicone mold, and a bit of creativity. Making squishies is also a simple creative activity that beginners can handle.

Instructions: How to Make Squishy Paws Step by Step

This procedure shows how to make squishy paws using a silicone mold and squishy gel. The same process can also be used for making other squishy shapes.

1. Preparing the workspace and tools

• Prepare a clean work table, preferably covered with plastic wrap or paper.
• You will need a silicone mold, petroleum jelly, squishy gel, mixing cups, a scale or measuring cup, spatula, stick or toothpick, and gloves.
• The tools can be purchased individually, or you can use a complete squishy making kit, which contains everything needed for squishy production.

2. Preparing the mold

• Clean the mold thoroughly.
• Apply a very thin layer of petroleum jelly into all creases and onto the edges so the gel does not stick to the mold.
• The layer must be even and smooth. We recommend applying it with a stick and then spreading it with a gloved hand.

3. Measuring both gel components

• The mixing ratio is stated on the gel packaging, most commonly 1:1.
• Measure equal amounts of component A and B by weight or volume.
• We recommend using a scale to ensure accuracy so the squishy paw cures properly.

4. Mixing the components

• Mix slowly and thoroughly for 3–5 minutes, from the sides and bottom.
• Try to avoid creating unnecessary bubbles.

• After mixing, you can add color or glitter. Add only a small amount. Too much color would dilute the gel, and too much glitter could reduce cohesion where it settles. Thanks to colors, you can create original colorful squishy paws.

5. Pouring into the mold

• Immediately after mixing, pour the gel into the prepared mold.
• Gently tap the mold on the table to release any bubbles.

• You can add glitter or combine multiple gel colors.

• Two differently colored gels may partially mix and create an interesting effect when making your own squishy.

6. Layers

If you want a multi-colored casting with separated colors, pour the first layer first. Once a firmer surface layer forms that sticks to a toothpick, it is time to prepare the second layer. With proper timing, both layers will bond well and create an original multi-colored squishy paw.

7. Curing and removal

• Let the gel cure for approximately 2–3 hours.
• Then immerse the mold in water with dish soap and carefully peel the product out.
• Do not use sharp tools.

• After removing the finished squishy, gently wash it in soapy water to remove any remaining petroleum jelly and let it dry.

8. Surface finishing and decoration

• Details can be colored with a small amount of tinted gel.
• You can also use acrylic paints, eyeshadows, or mica powders.
• The product can be covered with flocking powder for a velvety effect.

• We recommend placing finished squishy paws in a zip bag to prevent damage and keep dirt from sticking to them.
• You can add glitter, beads, or other decorations into the bag.
